Got the opportunity before the bushfires to photograph what is a great looking motorcycle. A Yamaha R1!!
These bikes are just weapons on two wheels, the have the speed and agility to go from zero to stupid speeds in less time it has taken you to read this line.
They really are one of the top bikes in the supersport category.
The day I look this here in Canberra we had smoke all over the place and we were rated one of the worst places in the world for air quality due to the bushfires that have been burning up this country. I must say the smoke in the background of the shot is something I couldn’t pay for as its just freaking amazing. It adds that extra to the image and with the short depth of field it really brings your eyes to the R1, which is hard to believe you would look anywhere else but hey that photography right?
Every year St Vincent de Paul helped thousands of people within Canberra and around Australia. This requires thousands of dollars in funds to keep this going, the motorcycle community both here in Canberra and around Australia pitching a few times a year to go along and help with donations and support. Tomorrow is one of their major ways in which they can help the unfortunate.
Tomorrow is the St Vincent DePaul blanket on the ground in Canberra were motorcyclists bring donations of blankets and other warm clothing which St Vincent de Paul handout or sell to assist people that are in need.
Myself and my daughter will be there to support what is a fantastic motorcycle community and to help less fortunate in any way we can. I will be there as an event photographer to capture the moments and give them back to the people which have given up their time and money and blankets to help other people in need.
If you are motorcyclists living in Canberra I urge you to come a all long to the blanket run which starts at 8:30 AM at old Parliament.
Here are just some of the photos which I took last year!
Have you ever wanted to see hundred are so motorcyclists riding their motorcycles while looking all dapper??? Well on the weekend Canberra and around the world held the distinguished gentleman ride in support of research for prostate cancer.
When I was asked if I could photograph this I almost jumped out of my chair as the opportunity to capture such amazing motorcycles with the unique look of massive moustaches and dudes wearing suits was almost too much for me to bear, so goes without saying that I was looking forward to this and I wasn’t disappointed.
I think it was about 150 registered motorcycles there and what a collection. From the relatively new to the vintage everyone is at have a fantastic time and support a great cause and I must say my little sports bike kind of looked out of place and I think I have more plastic on my bike and the combined plastic of all the other bikes.
If you are a check out the rest of the images click on the events link from the menu to which you will find the gallery which has all the images. You’re free to use them as you see fit and please share and raise awareness for such a cause so next year we can have an even bigger number.
